Roch 26

Photo from Cement Mills Crossing on the Bembridge Branch railway, c 1930.
The signal cabin controlled the level crossing for Quay Lane and the sidings for the cement mills which can be seen curving to the left by the engine. The old quay is off to the right, and the Cement Works buildings are off the picture to the left. The train has come from St Helens and is heading to Brading Station. The Bembridge Branch line closed in 1953.

The engine appears to be one of the original Isle of Wight Railway 2-4-0 tank engines, made by Beyer Peacock, which last ran on the Island in 1933.
