This Indenture made the fourth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight between the Bailiffs Jurats and Burgesses of the Town and Borough of Brading in the Isle of Wight in the county of Southampton of the one part and George Kemp of the Town and Borough of Brading in the Isle of Wight aforesaid carpenter of the other part.

Lease and land on both sides of street from Brading to Ryde (Rowberry Lane). 4^th October 1838. Bailiffs to George Kemp (Carpenter) to build a cottage or tenement. Map shows Mr Haydens house, Broadstone, West College land, Sir William Oglander’s land.
